Individual lessons at the ATTiC

Most commonly, the Alexander Technique is taught in a private lesson format. The first introductory lesson is an hour in length. This lesson gives the student an opportunity to meet the teacher, learn about the technique and to see if it is what he or she seeking.

If both the teacher and student find the Alexander Technique to be a match for the students needs, than a series of lessons can be undertaken. Most commonly a series is anywhere from 15 to 30 lessons taken weekly or bi-weekly. Though the number of lessons varies, this has been found to be the most common course of study length that allows most students to feel they have made the necessary changes in overcoming long standing habits and are able to enjoy and sustain the significant effects in their manner of moving.

However, pain relief and lightness in motion may often be noticed within the first few lessons and there are many people who study the technique for years, just the way one might study guitar, dance or tai chi, as they find the benefits ongoing.

The lessons may be thirty minutes, forty-five minutes or an hour in length. This is to be determined at the outset of lessons by the needs of the student and availability of the teacher.

The current cost of lessons at the ATTiC are:

30 min $35.00
45 min $50.00
60 min $65.00

Students should wear comfortable clothing to their lessons. A 48-hour cancellation policy applies to all lessons except for cases of extreme emergency.
